Cases and Cards
I’ve been thinking a bit on what to do with a case and main board. At first, I was planning on using one of the prebuild systems using a Mini-ITX board. The only problem is that I want to use both a TV/FM tuner card and an 802.11b card. However, the Cubid box has only [...]

EPIA TC
The folks over on mini-itx.com have managed to get their hands on some pictures of the upcoming VIA EPIA TC board. This was seen earlier in the year marked as the EPIA M2. I think this will end up being the perfect board for the MobilePC project. I’ll be able to boot from CF if [...]

Yet Another Task
I was just thinking, if I’m going to have a PC that will be running all the time, with a reasonably easy to get to interface, I should get it to do some home automation stuff too.

ASUS A7N266-VM
Matrox G400 MAX
Western Digital Cavier 80GB SE
2 sticks of PC2100 DDR 256MB
AMD AthlonXP 1800+
Last night I managed to get it up [...]

Nice Case
I was poking around mini-itx.com earlier today, and noticed they’ve got some nice looking new cases listed on the front page, including the Digital Powerhouse Clio. Looking at the specs, it can take a mini-ITX or microATX board, and has a place for an 2×40 character LCD display, which would be pretty neat.
That led me [...]

Switching Video
Okay, so the software is all set on the HTPC, MythTV is running nicely, though I’m not using it for TV recording yet, just movie playback, emulation, weather, and music. I do have an odd issue where Xfree86 doesn’t always use the keyboard. Not really sure what’s going on with that, but it’s just an [...]
