Still working on unpacking into the new apartment. I try and get a little bit done each night, but I still have a lot of boxes that need unpacking, mostly my books and PlayStation games left now. Last night I got the good old computer hooked up, and setup the WebRamp that Dave Reynolds is letting me use. Today, Derrick managed to pickup a DirecTV dual receiver box from WalMart, though apparently they no long put the programming cards in the box, so we have to wait for those to arrive.
So far I’m pretty happy in the new place. Just need more places to sit, since the computer chair and the bed arn’t all that comfortable sometimes. Hopefully I’ll be able to get Jason’s old couch over sometime, probably when Andrea is moving into her new place.
Work is going well. Yesterday and today I managed to learn how to write C extensions to perl modules using xs. I’ve got a working module to interface with FreeBSD’s bktr driver at the moment. I hope to add some functionality to it and clean it up a bit and hopefully release it.

Well, it was a pretty busy weekend. On Saturday I moved into the apartment in Lyndeboro. Derrick helped out carrying stuff, which was good, since there’s no way I could have done it all myself. My stepdad nearly drove me insane, but he was just trying to help, so I guess I shouldn’t be mad or anything. I’m so happy to finally be out of my parents house. No more lawn mowing, pool cleaning, snow shoveling, beer can laden dump runs, or the constant fear of coming home and finding out I did something else wrong. Freedom! woohoo!
Game night was kindof lame, but still fun. Derrick, jtn, and I played Soul Caliber, Hydro Thunder, pod, and Tony Hawk at jtn’s place, then started to watch Iria, but those slackers fell asleep. I’d like to get back to playing D&D on game nights, but Dave E. went off to college, and we don’t have anyone to take his place.
On Sunday, Andrea and I went and got new cell phones from Verizon to replace the ones we got from AT&T last week. The AT&T service wasn’t working around my apartment, so it wasn’t terribly useful to us. We got another pair of cancer-causing-but-fun-to-customize Nokia phones, but we were having trouble getting the cool faceplate of Andrea’s AT&T phone.
After getting phones, we went into Boston. I got a couple of new game soundtracks from Tokyo Kid, and she tried on some shoes at Sketchers, but they didn’t have her size in the ones she wanted, so she didn’t end up buying anything on the trip. It was still a good time though.
Well, it’s nearing the end of my first day back at SimPro. I’ve got my computer setup pretty much the way I want it now, except for the camera. It’s nice having a window to look out, I actually get some sense of what time it is and if I’ll get wet if I go outside. It’s nice.
Andrea said she’d go and check out Verizon’s plans today after she got out of work. We got AT&T phones on Saturday, but the phone starts roaming around my house, so it’s not very useful. I havn’t heard from her yet though, and my phone just gives a weird beeping when I try calling her. Very odd.
