Not much going on in life at the moment, but I felt like posting anyway. Spent a little bit of time today plotting out my HTPC project. My current thinking is to buy an ASUS A7N8X, an AthlonXP 2800+, and two sticks of 256MB PC3500 DDR for Vincent, my main machine, then move the AthlonXP 1800+ and it’s RAM into an ASUS A7N266-VM microATX board. Drop that into the Coolermaster ATC-610-GX1 with the Matrox G400, and we’re pretty much good to go.
Other than that, I also brought home the microwave that my dad sent me for Christmas. Compared to the old one, it’s gigantic! It barely fits on the microwave cart (actually, it hangs off a bit, but I think it’s okay.) I tried some popcorn in it tonight, and the bag wasn’t scorched at all! Very nice indeed.

Well, I ended up spending my New Year’s Eve with Matt. We watched Ice Age and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. It was fun, his mom made pizza and he made a tasty cheese dip.
Matt leaves for Georgia tomorrow morning, so he was somewhat busy packing up everything he owns. He had originally planned to leave on the 2nd, but plans got stepped up due to impending weather. Still, I’m glad he invited me over, since otherwise I would have spent the night sitting around the apartment doing approx. nothing.
I was originally planning to go over to Andrea’s house, but when I called her this afternoon to see what the plan was, she informed me that she’d be too busy packing for her trip to New Orleans.
I’d write down some resolutions here, but I don’t really see the point.

Well, my plans of posting each day of the LAN fell apart pretty quick, didn’t they? Saturday went well, Matt and I ventured back into New Hampshire to go to a family get together of his. His family is crazy, but I guess all families are. After we got back, we played CS and UT2k3 and NS until about midnight, when my back got to the point where I really didn’t want to be sitting in those chairs anymore. Matt took me back to the hotel, then he went back to play for a few more hours. On Sunday, most people had left by the time Matt and I went back to the location, so we just played a bit then packed up and drove home.
Overall it was a very fun time, and I’m looking forward to the next one, apparently to be scheduled sometime in the spring. I’ve been collecting pictures from various people who had cameras, and sticking them in a gallery I setup. Unfortunatly, I forgot to pack my camera.
As for New Year’s Eve, I’m not really sure what I’m doing yet. I just got a voice mail from Matt inviting me over there, since he may be leaving tomorrow for SCAD and doesn’t want to wander out. Also, I think Andrea expects me over at her parents house. At the moment, I’m just sitting in the apartment.
As for my plans for the new year, I don’t have many at the moment. I should start looking for a new place to live, probably a studio apartment somewhere closer to Milford. I may get a one-bedroom instead. I’d like to stay in the AT&T cable area, so I don’t have to go to Adelphia. I’ll probably take a look at the place Big Dave is living in Bedford, but that place seems kindof expensive. Other than a new place to live, I’d like to build the Home Theater PC, and maybe work on some other geeky projects. I’ll probably hook up the new apartment with X-10 devices once I can afford them. Other than that, it’s just work as usual and keep breathing.
