Made it through the first day at PepBoys, though I didn’t do much other than sit in front of a computer doing all their online training junk. I think I did 3 weeks of training in one shift.
Apparently tomorrow I’ll actually be driving, which should be more interesting.

Well, it’s not much, but at least it’s a job. As of tomorrow I’ll be working as a delivery driver for Pep Boys. It’s a regular 8-5 Tuesday-Saturday job, and though the pay isn’t great and it’s not really in my chosen profession, it’s better than sitting around playing WoW all day.
Of course, I’ll still be looking for a job in a more sysadmin type of role, so if anyone sees anything, feel free to let me know.
I’m also considering going back to school. I think I’m still considered a student of the University of New Hampshire in Manchester, so I shouldn’t need to reapply there, just need to go and sign up for classes. They now offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems, something that wasn’t available last time I was taking classes there.
Oh, and I’m thinking of having a get-together next Friday or Saturday to celebrate my employedness, and because I haven’t been very social the past few months. I figure card/board/video games at the apartment would be fun. Anyone interested?

Finally got around to installing the Live+Press plugin for WordPress. The config seems to be in order, so with any luck this’ll be posted to my LiveJournal.

For some reason I feel compelled to update at the moment. Still no luck in the job hunting, though I’m currently at what remains of SimPro doing a bit of contracting. I’ve had some good leads on jobs, but it seems like the stuff I’m really interested in isn’t hiring currently. Ah well. I put in an application at EB today, and applied for a driver position at Pep Boys. At this point I will take pretty much anything just to have something to do and bring in some money.
I’ve been trying to spend a bit more time at good ole’ JLC, mainly to try and get my brain back into the habit of thinking about tech things. It seems to be working. They’ve got a wireless networking project going on, though I’m not clear what the immediate goal is. Hopefully I can contribute something useful to it.
Other than that, not a whole lot going on at the moment. I’ve been playing too much WoW and my sleep schedule is a mess. I should probably work on hammering that into something more reasonable, so it’s less of a shock when I do get a job. I still remain optimistic that something good will come along.
