Weight Loss 2006
Yup, here we go again. I’ve been ignoring it too long, I have to get back into the mind set of losing weight. I thought I had been doing pretty well when I was working at PepBoys, and I may have been since I never kept a close eye on my weight during that time. But now that I’m back at a cushy desk job, I definitely need to start doing something.
So, I’ve resurrected my Clie and started tracking my weight again. I’m starting off doing the same thing I did last time, giving up soda (at least non-diet soda) and keeping an eye on calorie intake. I also want to start going to the gym again, since there’s one like 3 blocks from the apartment that I drive past every day.
My goal is to get back to where I thought I was by my birthday, which I think should be doable. I’ll be posting monthly graphs as they come along, so poke at me if you don’t see a graph by the end of April. I’m using the Hacker’s Diet stuff to track weight again, since I think that worked rather well for me last time.
Good for you! Both Mary and I have been doing pretty much the same thing for the past couple of months. Mary found a Palm program that, more or less, does the same thing as the Hacker’s Diet stuff but it gives you a goal and a daily calorie allowance - then you track what you eat and keep score. It has worked well - I have lost about 15lbs!
You do not have to register with the state to start a business, just start! You will have to keep track of income, expenses, etc. that you are attributing to the business and you cannot make a loss, but otherwise it is easy enough to do. As long as it is a “sole proprietorship”, you do not have to register it - in fact, if you do they will probably charge you a fee and make you pay business taxes. If you keep it a “sole proprietorship”, you just pay taxes with your income tax. Of course, NH may be strange due to their odd taxation system. If you do it, you will be able to claim any driving you do for SimPro etc. as a business expense. Again, you have to document it, but it is worth it.
Good luck - and have fun!
