Yet Another Task

I was just thinking, if I’m going to have a PC that will be running all the time, with a reasonably easy to get to interface, I should get it to do some home automation stuff too.
The easiest way to go about that is probably to use a bunch of X-10 devices (the devices are cool, though the Internet company with it’s (in)famous popup camera ads is not) hooked up to the various lights and appliances I want to control, then run something like Misterhouse on the HTPC to control it all. Could be a very neat addition….
