The folks over on mini-itx.com have managed to get their hands on some pictures of the upcoming VIA EPIA TC board. This was seen earlier in the year marked as the EPIA M2. I think this will end up being the perfect board for the MobilePC project. I’ll be able to boot from CF if I want to, use the onboard PCMCIA slot for a wireless card for wardriving and network access, and it still has the PCI slot for a frame grabber for the vehicle mounted cameras.
One of the other really neat features that appears to be on this board is the onboard DC-DC power supply, so instead of needing a full ATX power input, it appears to take a single 12V DC input. This should make it a lot simpler to install in a car.
Also, judging from the size of the PCMCIA/CF riser card, it should fit into existing cases, just needing a new ATX backplate with a hole for the cards to fit in. This should nicely solve basically all the problems I was having trying to find a case and power supply.

I bought one, as far I can see it does not boot from cf, or usb.
It seems to boot only form hd or ide 2 cfcard adpter and network.
Any tips are welkom….
