I am getting really sick of getting sick. Wednesday I developed a stuffed up nose and a sore throat, and in the evening started running what felt like a pretty high fever. No thermometers were to be found, so I have no idea how high it was. So I stayed home from work yesterday, and am feeling mostly normal today, though my nose is still a bit off.
Was feeling well enough by last night for
absinthexl to come over for some games. He,
doornail and I played a couple games of Nuclear War, which Dave had brought with him. It was Delia and I’s first time playing, but it’s pretty easy to pick up. Delia didn’t seem to be having much fun until she killed me, which apparently made the game much more enjoyable for her. We also played a little bit of Apples to Apples. Unfortunately, it’s somewhat rare that I get enough people together to play Munchkin, since I really like it, but you really need at least 4 people to make it interesting, and Delia refuses to play.
As for the impending weekend, doesn’t sound like much is going on tonight, but tomorrow Delia is going to drag me out to the seacoast to Portsmouth and Hampton, instead of going to a Realms event like she had originally planned. I’m looking forward to it. Then Sunday I’ve got the D&D game in the evening, so I might try and do something productive before that, like clean out my car.
Another weekend past and time for an update on my wondrous life. It was an interesting weekend, with Delia dragging me to Manray on Friday night. She even managed to get me to put blue junk in my hair, as can be seen in the pictures. I was somewhat hesitant to go, but I ended up having a good time. The rest of the weekend was rather relaxing. Delia got me to pick up a card game called Apples to Apples from the Tower. We ended up playing it most of Saturday night, and for a good amount of time on Monday as well. Worth picking up.
Sunday I sat in on another session of
darkenna’s D&D game. I’m going to be joining it with the next session. It seems a lot more thought out than most of the campaigns I’ve been in, so it should be a fun change of pace. I had been looking for a group to get into for a while now, and this seems like a good group of people.
In case you’re wondering about the subject of the post, I’ve decided to cancel my cable TV and TiVo subscription. I find that I’m not at home nearly enough to actually watch anything, and when I am home I have better things I should be doing. I figure the few shows that I do watch I can probably pick up online, or just wait till they’re available on DVD and get them via NetFlix. This does, however, make my TiVo somewhat useless, so if anyone is interested in buying a used AT&T-branded Series 2 (kindof) TiVo that’s been upgraded to 200 hours, let me know.
